They did it!!
Team Bruno managed to make it 200 miles from Chatsworth House to Ampleforth Abbey in just two days at the weekend! Huge congratulations to all the cyclists for their amazing efforts! They battled through torrential rain and hypothermic shock on day one and didn't complain once! They are all cycling heroes in our eyes - congratulations to them all!

The Bruno Bursary Cycle Challenges
The reaction to the Bruno Cycle Challenge between Cologne and Ampleforth in May 2013 was beyond our wildest dreams; it was a very special week on so many levels. We were overwhelmed when more than 80 cyclists joined the core team for the last day from Doncaster and York. We all made it back for the celebrations at Ampleforth where over 400 family and friends welcomed the team home. It was incredible!
Thanks to last year’s cycle challenge and a number of other fundraising events, more than £430,000 has been raised for Bruno’s Bursary Fund, which is amazing and already a huge step towards reaching the £600,000 target. To read more about Bruno’s Bursary Fund and the 2013 Cycle Challenge, please visit the "Bruno’s Story" tab on this website.
On the back of last year’s event, a number of people have been asking us, what’s next? Well, I am delighted to say that we can confirm The Bruno 200 will be taking place between Chatsworth House and Ampleforth Abbey on Friday 29th and Saturday 30th May 2015 with the kind and generous support of Lord Burlington.
The event is open to 200 cyclists who will cover 200 miles through the Derbyshire Peaks, the Yorkshire Dales and the North Yorkshire Moors. The challenge will be tough to say the least, taking in more than 60 miles of this year’s Grand Départ route, including the now famous Côte de Buttertubs Pass! With an overnight en-route and a celebration on our return to Ampleforth, it is set to be a very special couple of days.
The entry fee is £90 per cyclist, which includes all accommodation, refreshments and support throughout the challenge, and we are asking each rider to raise a minimum of £200 plus Gift Aid (and hopefully much more but we want to be as inclusive as possible). So, if you are keen, please do contact us asap as places will be reserved on a first come first served basis. Please have a look through the website to learn more about The Bruno 200 and to see a list of Team Bruno cyclists.
We would love to have you in Team Bruno and look forward to crossing the finish line with you!
